چکیده
Abstract Three-dimensional (3D) printing of scaffolds for tissue engineering applications has grown substantially in the past two decades. Unlike conventional autografts and allografts, 3D-printed can satisfy growing need personalized bony reconstruction following massive craniofacial bone loss. Employing layer-by-layer manufacturing techniques, it is possible to produce patient-specific structures rebuild complicated geometries esthetic purposes restore mechanical respiratory functions. Here, we summarize trends current state-of-the-art studies 3D-printing technologies reconstruction. We describe design development scaffolds, including material choices, scaffold fabrication workflows, mechanical, structural, biological considerations impacting application function. Finally, remaining hurdles opportunities growth transition widespread clinical adoption this technology. Graphical abstract

A novel three-dimensional printing of electroconductive scaffolds for bone cancer therapy application
Objective(s): Tissue engineering aims to achieve a tissue, which has highly interconnected porous microstructure concurrent with appropriate mechanical and biological properties. Materials and Methods: Therefore, the microstructure scaffolds are of great importance in this field. In the present study, an electroconductive poly-lactic acid (EC-PLA) filament used to fabricate a porous bone ...
متن کاملAntenatal Three-Dimensional Printing of Aberrant Facial Anatomy.
Congenital airway obstruction poses a life-threatening challenge to the newborn. We present the first case of three-dimensional (3D) modeling and 3D printing of complex fetal maxillofacial anatomy after prenatal ultrasound indicated potential upper airway obstruction from a midline mass of the maxilla. Using fetal MRI and patient-specific computer-aided modeling, the craniofacial anatomy of the...

M oday, O cber 9, 2017 These models are rendered and imported into BlenderTM (Amsterdam, The Netherlands). They are then inverted along the vertical axis to create a working template of the contralateral ear. The depths of the scapha, triangular fossa and cymba are deepened to accentuate contours. Additional relief is added to the helical root for further definition. The final template is digit...
متن کاملFeasibility of Polycaprolactone Scaffolds Fabricated by Three-Dimensional Printing for Tissue Engineering of Tunica Albuginea
PURPOSE To investigate the feasibility of a polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffold fabricated by three-dimensional (3D) printing for tissue engineering applications for tunica albuginea. MATERIALS AND METHODS PCL scaffolds were fabricated by use of a 3D printing system. Two scaffolds were fabricated that differed in the architecture of the lay-down pattern: a 90°PCL scaffold and a 45°PCL scaffold. M...
متن کاملThree-dimensional printing of porous ceramic scaffolds for bone tissue engineering.
This article reports a new process chain for custom-made three-dimensional (3D) porous ceramic scaffolds for bone replacement with fully interconnected channel network for the repair of osseous defects from trauma or disease. Rapid prototyping and especially 3D printing is well suited to generate complex-shaped porous ceramic matrices directly from powder materials. Anatomical information obtai...
